We would like to welcome all new perspective students and parents/guardians to an open evening at our College.

This is an opportunity to ask questions about the school system and take a guided tour of our college.

Attendees are addressed by the Principal, shown a short PowerPoint presentation by our Lead Students in the Performing Arts Centre, followed by a tour of the college. The Principal, Deputy Principals and Enrolment Officer are available to answer any questions regarding the college during this time.

Applications OPEN - In Zone 2017

Forms can be downloaded below or collected from the College during opening hours of 8-4 pm each day (not including holidays).

Closed - Out of Zone 2017

Ballot closed 7 September, drawn 14 September 2016.

1) Are you In Zone or Out of Zone?

Check the boundaries for Botany Downs Secondary College by either:

The most essential criteria for college entry are that students must reside within the College Zone.

If you are Out of Zone:

There are limited places for students that are determined by holding a ballot from the applications that are submitted by the closing date.  The Out-of-zone Ballot dates are set by the Ministry of Education, please refer to the Ministry website regarding the ballot process, order of priority and ballot dates.

2) Complete an Application Pack

Simply download the appropriate pack for In or Out of Zone:

Alternatively you can contact the college or visit us to pick up an Application Pack.

The Enrolments Office is located at Reception.

Only completed applications with the enclosed documents below will be accepted:

  1. Three proof of physical address e.g. Telephone Bill; Electricity Bill; Proof of Purchase of Residence; or Rental Agreement for Property.
  2. Latest Intermediate or College report.
  3. Visa in passport with parents/caregivers work visa; Residence visa in passport; NZ passport; or Birth certificate if born in NZ.

Incomplete applications will be returned.

3) Once your application has processed, there is an Enrolment Interview

Each student is interviewed; this takes around 15 to 20 minutes. We will contact you for a scheduled time.  

Interviews are conducted by the Senior Leadership Team, Whanau Leaders, or Heads of Learning Area.

The interview allows students and parents/caregivers time to ask any questions regarding the college and discuss options relating to the student's year level.

4) Enrolment Confirmation

During the interview, a starting date will be confirmed. Information about uniform fitting times, and stationery requirements will also be available. An email will also be sent to confirm.
