Botany Downs Secondary College Enrolment Scheme 2010
During the transitional period of the opening of the New Mission Heights Junior College, the Old zone applies as follows:

New Zone
All students who live within the school zone described below are entitled to enrol at Botany Downs Secondary College:
Starting at Pakuranga Creek the zone goes along the centre of Ti Rakau Drive, turning north into Botany Road (Both sides included). It then travels along Tarnica Road (both Sides included) and along the centre of Kilmanjaro Drive until joining Chapel Road. It continues along the centre of Chapel Road to the roundabout and turns into Whitford Road (both sides included). At the inlet the zone leaves Whitford Road and follows the coastline East until the point closest to where Whitford-Maraetai Road joins Henson Road. It then comes inland and follows the Whitford-Maraetai Road South, turning into Trig Road and then back to Whitford-Maraetai Road. At the intersection of Whitford Road and Whitford-Maraetai Road the zone travels west across country to the Northern boundary of the Gracechurch reserve. (Excluding Sandstone Road and associated no exit Roads and the entire Mission Heights Estate.) Continue West on the Gracechurch Drive (18, 19 and above included), then South along Baverton Close and West into Cyril French Drive (58-98 only included), before turning north along Middlefield Drive (95, 88 and below included). Turn West into Barcaldine Road (including Earlshall Drive, Dalcross Drive, Baltersan Drive) across Chapel Road (extending south to include 410,319 and above) to the end of Premwood Drive. Turn South down Wayne Francis Drive (85,82 and below including Mordane Place, travel west into Walter Haddrell Crescent though Shingleton Lane to Te Iirangi Drive Head North along Te Irirangi Drive to include East Tamaki Road as far as Accent Drive (excluded), Redcastle Drive (and associated side roads), Smales Road (19,30 and above included and associated side roads). At the end of Kelvin Hart Drive meet and follow the Pakuranga Creek back to the starting point.
All Residential Addresses on included sides of boundary roads and all no exit roads off included sides of boundary roads are included in the zone unless otherwise stated.
Old Zone
Below is the old Botany zone applying to Year 11, 12 and 13 students.
Starting at Pakuranga Creek the zone goes along the centre of Ti Rakau Drive, turning north into Botany Road (both sides included). It then travels up the centre of Tarnica Road and Kilimanjaro Drive until joining Chapel Road.
It continues along the centre of Chapel Road to the roundabout and turns into Whitford Road (both sides included). At the inlet the zone leaves Whitford Road and follows the coastline east until the point closest to where the Whitford-Maraetai Road joins Henson Road. It then comes inland and follows the Whitford Maraetai Road South, turning into Trig Road, and then back into Whitford-Maraetai Road. The zone proceeds west along Whitford Road, having included Whitford Park Road, Brownhill Road and Saleyard Road, until it turns into Griggs Road, which it follows through to Caldwells Road (including all of it). The zone turns into point View Drive and then into Middlefield Drive, travelling South and into Gracechurch Drive. At the end of Gracechurch Drive it retraces back to Baverton Close and down to Cyril French Drive, turning into Middlefield Drive and then into Amon Avenue. It follows Coachman Drive around to Baverstock Road, and heads South on Baverstock Road to Stancombe Road (not included). Then turns around and travels up and back all the way to Chapel Road, heading South down the centre of Chapel road to the corner of Accent Drive. The zone then heads up, but does not include, Accent Drive, Lady Ruby Drive and Sir William Avenue (Reg Savory Place and Basalt Place also excluded) to Smales Road. The Zone follows Smales Road, including numbers 30 & above before turning up to Kelvin Hart Drive (and including all side roads off it) and onto Guys Road. From Guys Road the zone travels down the centre of the Pakuranga Creek back to the starting point on Ti Rakau Drive.
All Residential Addresses on included sides of boundary roads and all no exit roads off included sides of boundary roads are included in the zone unless otherwise stated.
2009 Transitional Arrangement:
Siblings of current students enrolled at Botany Downs Secondary College that will be excluded by this amendment will be deemed to be in-zone for 2009 only.
The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education Act 1989.
The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone including maps, may be viewed on the school website at www.bdsc.school.nz or at the school office, where copies of the scheme are also available.
