Tuition Fees
Years 9 & 10 NZ$12,500.00 (GST included)
Years 11-13 NZ$13,500.00 (half-year NZ$6,750; 1 Term: NZ$3,375) (GST included)
(This includes: Classroom tuition, textbooks on loan, ESOL tuition if required, initial exercise books, airport meet and greet. A non-refundable administration fee of $500 is also included)
ACCOMODATION FEES
Weekly homestay fee NZ $220.00
Homestay Placement fee (non refundable) NZ $230.00
Monitoring Fee if Student lives with Designated Caregiver NZ $230.00
Medical and Travel Insurance
NZ $456.00 (Southern Cross ‘Max’ - includes baggage/personal items cover)
NZ $300.00 (Southern Cross ‘Essentials’ - no baggage/personal items cover)
NZ $469.00 (Uni-care NZ Student Policy)
(Above fees are for 12 months.)
Uniform
Varies according to gender and optional items: approx. NZ$350.00
(Shoes additional- may be purchased in home country - black lace-up shoe, not trainer- type.
Year 12 & 13 girls may also wear a plain black flat-heeled slip-on shoe with no decoration.)
ADDITIONAL FEES
Exam fees
For students entering NCEA exams at levels 1, 2 or 3: NZ$375 per year.
Stationery: Additional stationery and student workbooks are extra (approx $80-$100)
Subjects: Some subjects charge for materials used. Fees may be $150-$250 a year.
Outdoor Education is an extra $250 per year if this subject is chosen.
Voluntary Activities/School/Class trips Approximately NZ $100/year
Sports team participation (varies according to sport) Approximately NZ $50/year
FEES PROTECTION
Botany Downs Secondary College has a Fee Protection policy to safeguard the fees paid by International Students, in the unlikely event that the school may not be able to commence or continue to deliver tuition to the international student. The School’s Board of Trustees guarantees to hold in reserve sufficient funds to meet the requirements of any refund in these circumstances.

* Senior students finish earlier if not writing NCEA exams. The teaching term ends in Mid-November for years 11-13.
