SUMMARY:U15 Open Boys Rugby Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]U15 Open Boys Rugby team to represent BDSC at the\nHurricanes Rugby Tournament in Wellington \nCollege Sport Wellington will soon be hosting the 10th annual Hurricanes Rugby Tournament on behalf of the Hurricanes Youth Rugby Council. This is an invitation only tournament\, and the last time BDSC was invited to compete was 2017. \nAs a highly competitive tournament with some of New Zealand’s best teams representing their schools\, the tournament gives our U15 Open Team a great opportunity to test their skills and continue to build their strong team spirit. Twenty teams will be travelling to Wellington to compete\, and BDSC will play alongside 11 other teams in Division 1. Another eight teams will compete in Division 2. \nFundraising is now underway to help cover the cost of travel\, accommodation and meals over the four day tournament.  A successful BBQ\, cake sale and car wash were held a few weeks ago – despite a storm threatening to disrupt all our carefully laid plans. We’ll also be selling samosas\, and tickets are now on sale for our main event – a hilarious evening of hypnotic comedy with Haiming Jiang. \nEach of the players in the team has been tasked with selling 18 tickets to this event\, so see your Whanau team rep to buy your tickets and lend your support to the team.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”23423″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Eye on Nature Wearable Arts Fashion Show
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand. Our school has a number of entries this year and we can’t wait to see them. \n \nSome of our tamariki will walk the catwalk on Thursday 27 June 2019\, 6:30pm-9pm at the Vodafone Events Centre as they show off to the public and hope to impress the judges with their eco-friendly wearable art pieces. \n\nEach art piece represents an environmental message relating to the theme – Friend or Foe\, Restoring Habitats\, Reducing Threats – Hoa hēhoariri kia haumaru papakāinga; in which students have worked on for months in and out of school. Costumes are all made out of recycled and natural materials – and turn out to be stunning! \nCaring for the environment is extremely topic in Auckland\, with Auckland Council declaring Climate Change as a state of emergency and globally students all over the world striking for global action. \nWe hope to see supporters for our students on the night with tickets $5pp through Eventfinda. \nAll the best to our students entering. \n\nGet tickets or view more information\nhttps://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2019/wearable-arts-awards-night-2019/auckland/manukau-city \nhttps://www.beautifulmanukau.org.nz/wearable-arts-competition-2019
