DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]All new students are to be in correct full school uniform and will require pen\, paper\, device\, lunch and snacks. \nVehicles may not drop off or collect students from inside the college grounds unless students have genuine limited mobility (which needs to be organised with the shcool prior). Please note the church next door does not allow BDSC families to use their carpark. \nNew students to the College and Whānau must assemble by 8.40am just pass the roundabout\, next to the cricket nets at the back of the college (entry is by the set of lights directly across from Botany Town Centre) for our Pōwhiri starting at 9am. As we have construction onsite\, please make your way quickly to the assembly area. \nYear 9 students will be released at 3pm. \nNew Year 10-13 students will be released at the end of their induction programme\, at approximately 12.30pm.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The evening will commence at 6.30 pm in the PAC. \n\nThis is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s Whānau Leader where they will introduce you to the processes and expectations of our College including how to access important information on the web portal\, as well as answering any questions you may have. \nOur Whānau system is at the heart of the College and is the foundation of our holistic approach to student education and pastoral care. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nSeaweek – Kaupapa Moana – is New Zealand’s annual national week celebrating the sea.\nSeaweek is an opportunity for all ages to discover the many ways that our lives are connected to the sea. In March every year\, we encourage and promote events and community action projects to inspire and enable this connection. \nSeaweek is coordinated nationally by Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre (MERC) and is made possible through the work of a large network of volunteers with support from a wide range of individuals\, groups\, businesses and organisations. We’re grateful for the collaborative work which enables us to offer and promote opportunities which inspire kiwis to take time to connect with the sea. \nSeaweek History\nSeaweek has been a regular fixture in Aotearoa New Zealand for over 30 years. It was first held by the Marine Education Society of Australasia in 1992. From the late 1990s through to 2019\, New Zealand Association for Environmental Education (NZAEE) coordinated the event through its nationwide network. In 2019 MERC started to work alongside NZAEE to deliver Seaweek and in 2023 custodianship was more formally passed onto MERC. Each year\, Seaweek collaborates with a wide range of groups across Aotearoa New Zealand to organise a variety of accessible opportunities for all to immerse themselves in the marine environment and learn about the ocean. Seaweek hopes to inspire people to engage with nature\, explore the ocean and develop a deep sense of connection to our environment so that all are inspired and empowered to be kaitiaki.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
