COVID-19 Update – School Closures

24 Mar 2020

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, from Thursday morning all schools in New Zealand will be closed and will remain closed for at least 4 weeks pending further government announcements. This period of time will include the school holidays, which will now begin Monday 30 March to Tuesday 14 April inclusive.

Please note, at the end of the school holidays, the instruction to stay home (Alert Level 4) will continue. Schools will be technically open for distance learning and our teachers will be working offsite. See our Guidelines for Online Learning.

Please be assured that the college, in conjunction with NZQA, will be managing NCEA assessments and the impact on qualifications in the best interest of learners.

As parents and caregivers, we must now all support the nations drive to rid our country of COVID-19. The Prime Minister stated “To be absolutely clear we are now asking all New Zealanders who are outside essential services to stay at home, and to stop all interactions with others outside of those in your household. …. Together we have an opportunity to contain the spread and prevent the worst.”
