Touch New Zealand to attend Youth World Cup in 2018

Touch NZ Chief Executive Joe Sprangers has confirmed that Touch New Zealand will be looking to take a full contingent of six teams to the Youth World Cup of Touch event scheduled for August 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Provided all grades remain viable a contingent of 6 teams will travel to KL.  Touch New Zealand are the current holders of the Youth World Cup and we look forward to the opportunity to attend this event and retain our status of Number one in the World at this level.

The continuing identification of players will be carried out at both the Junior Nationals in February as well as the Youth/Open Nationals in March. Players will then be invited to a camp in April where the final selections for teams travelling to the Youth World Cup will be decided.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any Youth player.  As well as retention of the Youth World Cup, Touch NZ will also use the opportunity to test the playing venue and infrastructure before the Touch Blacks and NZ Masters representative teams travel to KL for the Touch World Cup in 2019.
