In order to develop and enhance citizenship and have values of the college, Botany Downs Secondary College is continuing to develop a comprehensive and first class co-curricular programme. This programme provides opportunities for students to experience and develop skills and qualities through their active participation in activities beyond the classroom.

Being active, being involved, and being challenged will always be part of being a “kiwi kid”.

Alongside our Sports, Arts, Cultural Groups and Enviroschools we also provide many Service and Leadership opportunities such as Coaching, Leadership Programmes, Librarians, Umpiring and the Young New Zealanders Challenge.

This year all students will be encouraged to have a minimum of 4 co-curricular activities on each of the two reports issued during the year.
