Welcome to our school, the perfect choice for students who want the best of everything, a friendly multicultural school with great teachers and modern facilities. Located close to the airport, beaches and opposite a major shopping mall.
We have a team, which is dedicated to the care and support of every international student who chooses to make their home with us for a few months or longer.
Our college is built around a Whānau (pronounced far-no), or House system. It means that every Botany student will belong to one of our six houses. Each house has around three hundred students and is designed to make you feel like you are a part of a small school within the larger school. Each Whānau has students from Year 9 through to Year 13 and over the duration of your stay, your Whānau should start to feel like an extended family of teachers and students. This is where you will have a locker, kitchen facilities for making your lunch, computers, photocopying facilities and somewhere to relax and socialise with other international and New Zealand students.
We are a Microsoft Pathfinder school, and a Microsoft Mentor school. We have Wi-fi inside and outside the school so that you can access the internet, and intranet using our high-speed fibre optic broadband. All students need to bring a laptop with them when they come to study here so that you can access the learning resources that teachers provide.
At Botany Downs, we believe that being active, being involved, and being challenged is an intrinsic part of being a “kiwi kid”. Learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom so we really encourage students to take part in our huge Co-curricular program.
