The library is a popular place to be before, during and after school with the busiest time being lunchtime, where it is usually busy with students using the library for a variety of reasons including reading, research, playing chess and socialising.

The Library resources, both printed and electronic, endeavour to meet the broad needs, interests and abilities of users of various ages and all cultural backgrounds, providing a wide variety of opportunities for all students.
Our Library Catalogue (Oliver) is available online 24/7. You don’t need to be logged in to search the library catalogue but you will need to for reserving items and saving searches.

Library on Office 365 contains useful online resources for students to use for research and referencing along with help in evaluating resources.
Students and staff can borrow our growing collection of eBooks by either going directly to our ePlatform Website or downloading the app to your preferred device: Windows Android iOS Apple
You will need to know your Oliver Login and Password to access our ebooks. If you don’t know these, email library@bdsc.school.nz.
Textbook Room located in Prefab 1. Open Interval, Monday to Friday, and by appointment.
Early in the year, your teacher will book your whole class in to the Textbook Room to issue textbooks during class time.
If you are away when your class gets their textbooks, know what textbook you need and come to the Textbook Room at interval to get one issued to you.
To issue a textbook you must show us your student I.D. card or your timetable so we know who you are.
Return textbooks to the Textbook Room in the slot. Textbooks can be returned anytime between 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
DO NOT return textbooks to the library.
Make sure to return your textbooks at the end of the school year. If you do not you will have to pay for the cost of the textbook(s) not returned.
You may still be issued textbooks when in possession of overdue textbooks. However, you may not issue out any library resources.
Our Library uses social media and online resources to facilitate continuous learning and to engage students, teachers and the college community in order to keep you informed about the library, college events and activities, along with author and book news, reviews and much more. We encourage you to visit and engage with us using these resources.
