Congratulations to the following students for their selection to play in the KBB Festival Honours Programme on Friday 16 August 5 – 9 pm.

  • Athena Shui 13D9 – Violin 1 – (Orchestra and Jazz Band)
  • Geoffrey Huang 13B1 – Percussion – (Orchestra and Jazz Band)
  • Suet Ching  (Tiffany) Tse 13D9 – Violin 1 (Orchestra and Jazz Band)
  • Eva Tian 12D9 – Violin 2 – (Orchestra)
  • Honfai Chan 1216 – Viola – (Orchestra and Jazz Band)
These students will be representing the school during the week…

The Orchestra will perform at St Marys, Parnell on Tuesday 13 August at 10 am and the Jazz Band will be performing Friday 16 August at 9:30 am.

Free Concert…

On Friday 16 August at 8:30 pm, a free concert will take place along with students selected from other schools.

In 2019 we are pleased to announce both an honours symphony orchestra and an honours jazz band.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – directed by David Kay (Auckland Philharmonia)

  • Leonie Holmes – In The Lair Of The Cave Weta
JAZZ BAND – directed by Roger Manins (University of Auckland)

  • Stan Kenton – Autumn In New York
This year, the KBB Music Festival Honours Programme musicians will assemble on Friday August 16th, between 5 pm and 9 pm, at Holy Trinity Cathedral and St Mary’s Church to rehearse and perform.

It is an opportunity to come together and work collegially, and also to work with either of our two respected music educators.

SCHEDULE
  • 5:00 pm – intensive rehearsals
  • 8:00 pm – break
  • 8:30 pm – free concert for parents, teachers and public
  • 9:00 pm – finish
