On Saturday 7 June, two of our Chamber Music groups represented the school at the annual Auckland Chamber Music Contest, held at the Raye Freedman Arts Centre.
Sonoro Trio: Ivy Liong 12J11 – piano, Rick Zhao 11J5 – violin, and Candice Wang 13K6 – cello – performed Schubert’s Trio in E-flat, Op. 100. Special thanks to Karthiga Raveenthiran 13D9 for assisting with page turning.
3 Xiao Long Bao Trio: Rachel Ly 11J5 – piano, Wei En Huang 11J5 – violin, and Yena Wang 11S10 – violin – performed four movements of the Five Pieces for Two Violins and Piano by D Shostakovich.
Both groups delivered well-prepared, engaging performances and presented their music with great confidence and musicality. The contest featured a wide range of beautiful and inspiring performances across Auckland, showcasing technical and expressive skills.
A huge thank you to Ms Treneman for her guidance, encouragement, and ongoing support throughout the preparation process.
