On Tuesday 28 May, the option music students from BDSC adventured to the Auckland Town Hall for the Discovery concert hosted by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. The program for Discovery covered a wide variety of music written by composers spanning over 300 years. Some of these pieces included Jupiter by Holst, The Imperial March by John Williams, as well as Little Red-Cap by young composer-in-residence Jennifer Yuan. All of them connected together by the M.C, Steve Logan, who captivated the audience with his vivid storytelling and infectiously cheerful attitude. The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra told a compelling story through their passionate playing, which was inspiring for young musicians such as ourselves to see and hear.
