Adventure, Growth, and Unforgettable Moments

From Monday 24 February, to Wednesday 26 February, Year 9 Britten students stepped away from their usual routines and into an unforgettable adventure at Waharau Outdoor Education Centre. The camp was more than just a few days away from school—it was a chance for students to push their limits, embrace new challenges, and build lifelong friendships. Whether they were scaling the high ropes, testing their aim in archery, or navigating mountain biking trails, each activity encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones and discover what they were truly capable of. Evenings brought their own kind of magic, with stargazing sessions and campfire storytelling fostering a sense of connection and reflection.

Throughout the camp, students showed resilience, teamwork, and an incredible spirit of support for one another. Laughter and encouragement echoed through the bush as they tackled physical and mental challenges together, forming bonds that will last well beyond their time at Waharau. The enthusiasm of the staff and student leaders played a key role in creating such a positive and enriching experience, ensuring that every student left camp with not just great memories, but also newfound confidence and friendships. Year 9 Britten Camp wasn’t just a trip—it was a journey of growth, adventure, and moments that will be cherished for years to come.
