Wei-Zin has taken first place in the NSSCC – National Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge (at home competition) in the Year 9-11 Section.
Judges Comments: Great video and explanation of recipe. Amazing knife skills shown, the avocado rose is something that many chefs would struggle to replicate. Beautiful colours with a great balance of textures and flavours. Not only would this would be a very tasty and nutritious meal to eat it also showcased all ingredients well. Fantastic entry.

Buddha Bowl
Made with a basing of roasted cauliflower, fried tofu, quinoa, red cabbage and kumara, paired with edamame beans, alfalfa and seasonal snow pea shoots. Topped off with an avocado rose, cherry tomatoes and roasted sesame seeds, served with a homemade zesty lemon sesame sauce!
Ingredients:
1/4 Edamame Beans
1/4 block Firm Tofu
2 Kumara
1 cup Red Cabbage
1/2 cup Cauliflower
1 cup Quinoa
Alfalfa
Cherry tomatoes
1/2 avocado
Sauce:
1/4 cup Tahini
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tbsp Water
