New Zealand Economics Competition is a prestigious event that showcases the exceptional talent that New Zealand secondary students have in economics. The competition tests students’ knowledge of economic theory and current economic issues.
This year our Year 12 and Year 13 Economics students took part in this online economics competition. Approximately 1,800 Economics students from Year 12 and 13 from across New Zealand took part in the competition, a one-hour online test.
Botany Downs Secondary College achieved seven Higher Distinction Awards and eight Distinction Awards which is in the top 10% to 15% in this competition. This is an awesome achievement for the students, their teachers, and the school.
There will be an Awards Presentation Ceremony at University of Auckland to recognise the students who have achieved High Distinction Awards on Tuesday 17 October 2023. High Distinction students will receive physical certificates at the awards evening. The top-performing students will receive monetary prizes and the National Winners will also receive trophies.
