On Wednesday 5 May, Year 12 &13 Art, Photo and Art History students went on a day long trip to the Auckland CBD.
The group was dropped off by the bus at Spark Arena where they roamed through the amazing Van Gogh Alive exhibition. It was a wonderful experience to see paintings made into a digital image with some movement. The images were all around even on the floor. The Sunflower Room was a great hit as well.
The group walked to central CBD for lunch, then spilt into two groups. The smaller group of Art History students spent the afternoon inside the Art Gallery, while the rest of the group carried on to Whitecliffe College of Art for a tertiary campus tour. The tour was amazing with the team at Whitecliffe who were full of enthusiasm and knowledge. They showed us the only Art Library in New Zealand, the textiles, art and digital rooms. Students’ artwork was everywhere, really inspiring!
