Alum Tafito Lafaele Playing for Auckland Storm

13 Oct 2020

Tafito Lafaele (class of 2018) debuted for the Auckland Storm in 2019 and since then has been a regular in the Farah Palmer Cup side.

Tafito was an all round athlete when at BDSC, proving that “balance is better” when it comes to sport. Tafito was part of the championship winning Senior Girls Basketball team, Premier Netball team, Senior Girls Volleyball, Ki-O-Rahi, 7’s and even competed at Nationals Athletics in discus. In 2018, Tafito was named the BDSC Personality of the Year at our major sports awards.

During her time at Botany Tafito was a positive, motivating and caring role model that lead from the front on the court or field. Director of Sport Karl McLennan praises Tafito on her achievements.

“It was a joy having Tafito part of sport at BDSC. She is someone that works hard and has shown amazing determination to get to where she is today. We’ve loved seeing her make rugby her own and going from strength to strength.”

With one more round robin game before the semi finals, we’re hoping to see the Auckland Storm come home the with the Farah Palmer Cup once more.  Make sure you head to the Auckland Rugby website for fixtures.
