We are delighted to announce the success of Wei Zin Chan 13D3 and Ashley Hewlett 13S10 who, for the 2nd year in a row, have won the regional National Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge (NSSCC). The NSSCC is an annual event run by the Culinary Arts Development Trust. The competition is designed to promote the next generation of culinary talent, provide career pathways for students, and foster relationships between secondary schools and the hospitality industry. By entering this regional event teams are competing for a place in the National Grand Final.
Wei Zin and Ashley will be heading to the grand final in September representing the Auckland region and BDSC.
The girls had to develop, produce and present two portions of an Entrée dish showcasing New Zealand grown Cauliflower that can be made in 45 minutes. They also had to answer a series of questions relating to the development of this dish.
We are very proud and wish them all the very best for the final.
